Strathcona Senior School

Strathcona was built back in 1937 on the site of the Hill Street School which was built in 1885. Hill Street School was a two room school. In 1868 there were additions added on and the school was renamed to The Old Stone School. In 1936 there was a mysterious fire that claimed the roof and part of the structure.
The school had closed August 31 2008 due to it's old unrepairable condition as directed by the school board in that region. The students were transferred to schools nearby.

The school still has power and is tightly locked up! This location has been used by Swat and other emergency response units for exercises/games in the recent years.

COMMENTS
NOT ABANDONED, CONVERTED TO APT BUILDING!!! DO NOT VISIT

For anyone wondering - this place still exists. It is still boarded up and has a multitude of graffiti on the exterior. It is not accessible except through the gym, which is used on a regular basis. There is still power, and the company that owns it monitors it.
